Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. Learn how we handle your data.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Battery Health Checker ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website (batterychecker.org) and our desktop application.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
Desktop Application
No Data Collection
Our Battery Health Checker desktop application is designed with privacy as a core principle:
- No personal data collection: The application does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information
- No usage analytics: We do not track how you use the application
- No internet connection required for battery checks: Battery readings work entirely offline. The only network request the application makes is an update check: it contacts GitHub to read the version number of the latest release. This request contains no battery or personal data; GitHub handles it under its own privacy statement.
- Local processing only: All battery information is read directly from your system's hardware and processed locally on your computer
- No battery data transmission: Battery readings never leave your device
What the Application Accesses
The Battery Health Checker application only accesses:
- Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) battery information
- System battery status APIs provided by Windows
This information is displayed to you and is never stored or transmitted anywhere.
